We have a 10 year old son who joined Perry Athletic Karate almost a year ago. He begged me and his daddy for years to allow him to join. Because of Dakota's maturity level, I was always hesitate to let him join, until I walked in the door and spoke with Mr. Martin and Mrs. Brenda and learned all that they had to help teach Dakota. Self-Control, Self-Disipline, and Self-Defense. Those are only a small fraction of what our son has learned through Perry Athletic Karate. I can't thank the school enough for all the support they have given to our family. We love watching our son mature and grow through martial arts. This school is by far, the best thing we could have given to our son and he loves each and every class. He would go every day if he could. It is a joy to see the kids working hard for a common goal. Thank you Mrs. Brenda, Mr. Martin and Mr. Bo, for all that you do for each one of us!

This may be difficult for people to understand if they don't share my Christian belief. At age 35 I felt that the Lord was calling me back into the martial arts and that I was supposed to make it a father and son thing. I wanted nothing to do do with taekwondo at all because I had been ripped off by another school in the area. I checked out several schools and they were either too expensive or my son Matthew would have to wait until he was older. So I called (PAK) Perry Athletic Karate and found their prices were good and that Matt and I could train together and we could do this untill he was old enough to attend another school. Over the past year we have formed a relationship with the instructors and I have learned that Mr. Martin truly means that he wants all of his students to be better than him. Mr. Martin will not sacrifice teaching the martial arts for monetary gain unlike some other schools in the area. Matt and I have no plans to attend any other schools, and one day I am hoping to be an instructor and pass on what Mr. Martin has taught me. I am not saying that this school is right for everyone or that my fellow belivers in Christ should sign up just because I did. I will only say that you should take PAK (Perry Athletic Karate) into serious consideration before you sign up at any other school.

I am a 26 year old, wife, and mother of two. Taking Karate class is something I have always wanted to do, but lack the confidence to do. I researched different karate schools for over a month before decideing Perry Athletic Karate was the place for me. From the first time I walked through the door I was greeted with smiling faces, and a very helpful staff. I have only been with Perry Athletic Karate for a short time, and I am hooked. Everytime I walk out of class, I can't wait to come back! Everyone here is so helpful, and patient. If karate is something that you have always wanted to do, then this is the place to learn. Perry Athletic Karate is making a dream come to life for me, and for that I will always be thankful.
Thank You,

Quite a few years ago my husband wanted to get into martial arts again, so our two sons would learn about self-control, and all the things that went along with the art. Our boys were always getting into fights, and just boy trouble. My husband and the boys enrolled here at Perry Athletic Karate. We came to class every day. It was like this was made for them. They just took off, soaking up every little thing the instructors offered, even with one of them having ADDHD. They learned the focus, and disipline they needed. They stoped fighting, and have become some of the best children a parent could ask for. They just needed something to put their energy into. Now we own Perry Athletic Karate, and it is the best thing in our lives. To give back what the art has given to our family is priceless. We truely love martial arts and to be able to pass it on is wonderful.

The best decision, my granddaughter, Macy, ever made was to want to become a part of the "Perry Athletic Karate" family. Yes, the term "family" is fact. This Sept. 2006, Macy, 10 years old, will have completed her first year at Perry Athletic Karate, as a Green Belt (unless she is ready in Aug. to test for her Blue Belt and passes). There are not enough words in the English language to express our gratefulness to Mr. Martin, her instructor, Ms. Brenda, his wife and Mr. Bo, their son and assistant instructor, for the positive reinforcement they have provided to Macy, as well as, the love they genuinely give to, not just macy, but all their students both young and older. These folks have a genuine love for people and, to me are an excellent example to follow, not only for their students, but for all of us that may be blessed to meet and come to know them. You see, Macy, seven years old at the time, lost her mother in death, 6 Apr. 2003. Bonded together, her Papa and I have been lovingly raising Macy and her little brother Mikey since their mother was taken from them. Macy, of course had a lot of issues to deal with over this tragedy. She would talk to me about her feelings, etc., but she had no outlet. She had always been on the shy side, but she became increasingly shy. She had a lot of anxiety and frustrations pent up inside her with no way to release it. She lived each day in fear; afraid of losing another person she loved. Being small and petite in stature, she didn't have a whole lot of self esteem or self confidence; however, she is a truly beautiful child. She had little patience, low perseverance and a little on the lazy side (common for that age group). She has always performed well in school academically, but she had trouble focusing and following instructions, especially since the loss of her mother. GUESS WHAT!!!! Macy has made a complete turn-a-round! Being trained in martial arts has taught her self control, perseverance, self confidence, enhanced her respect for others, and increased her self esteem. After one month at Perry Athletic Karate, cards were no longer pulled at school for her not listening, or following rules and instructions. She told me she loved Karate because she was able to release the anxiety inside, learning kicks and various martial arts moves, sparring, grappling etc. enabled her to both release and deal with her feelings in a positive, beneficial way. She liked learning how to protect herself, giving her a deeper feeling of security within herself. For the first time, she made Honorable Mention for the 1st and 3rd grading period and Honor Roll, for the 2nd and 4th grading periods during the 05/06 school year. This year, 2006/2007, her goal is to make Honor Roll all four grading periods. She has learned to be more patient, and has been helping out with chores at home. Shy, perhaps, still a little; however on vacation in Panama City Beach, we took her and her brother to Gulf World, and her shyness seemed totally gone. At Gulf World, they have shows with different animals/mammals. Macy got up on stage with the performer at the Reptile Show and held a big lizard and interacted with the performer in front of a bunch of folks. Also, they had an evening show “Las Vegas”. Well, our Macy was the first to go up on stage in front of hundreds of people to do the twist with the entertainer. Later in the show, the entertainer handed her the microphone and she sang almost an entire Country Western song in front of all those people. It brought tears to my eyes; I was so proud and happy of and for her. Her Papa and I were both totally amazed!!!!! After the show, her Papa and I looked at each other and made the same comment, “Macy would have never done what she just did today if it weren’t for “Karate” and Mr. Martin using his God given “gift”, the ability to reach out to children, as well as, adults, lovingly teaching them how to become a more secure person within themselves. Please, for future stability, give the Perry Athletic Karate family the opportunity to help raise your children with the same positive reinforcement as they have Macy and many others, both young and older. With all the peer pressure, drugs and negativity in the world today, we need to take advantage of the resources to help prevent our loved ones and ourselves from being caught up into a life style of self destruction. Perry Athletic Karate is a wonderful resource to grab onto as the testimonials validate. Thanks again, Mr. Martin, Ms. Brenda and Mr. Bo for the love and devotion you so freely give.
